About Our Practice

The dental practice at Rendezvous Dental was founded by Dr. Hal Macon in 1962. His practice had a reputation for honesty, fairness, and caring. It was important to Hal to have his legacy carried on. He was joined by Dr. Dale Sackett in 1998 when their practices combined.

In 2011,

Dr. Colton Crane took over management of the practice and brought enthusiasm and knowledge of the latest advances in dentistry. He saw to it that all of the dental operatories were equipped with the newest dental technology.

Dr. Crane and Dr. Sackett...

strive to leave the same legacy that Dr. Macon established in 1962. By continuing to treat patients with integrity and competence, using tools on the cutting-edge of technology, they are consistently proving that they are as conscientious and considerate as their predecessor.

This empowers us to deliver high quality, individualized care which results in patients feeling confident and comfortable with the care they receive. Cosmetic Services

Rendezvous Dental knows the importance of a beautiful, healthy smile. We are committed to giving each of our patients a healthy mouth so they can feel confident showing off their gorgeous smile. We feature the latest in cosmetic dental procedures including veneers, in-office and take-home whitening, porcelain crowns as well as implants. Our top priority is to enhance your confidence and happiness with your smile with top-quality work and superior care. We are committed to making each patient look and feel their very best.

In Office Bleaching

Our in-office bleaching system utilizes a highly concentrated whitening gel applied to whiten the teeth. After a protective film is placed over the gums, the gel is placed on the teeth. After two 15-20 minute sessions, the teeth become visibly whiter!

Take Home Bleaching System

We take impressions of your mouth, and from them create custom-fitted trays that fit over your teeth. At home, and at the convenience of your schedule, you place a thin ribbon of lightening/bleaching gel into the tray and wear it from 15 minutes, up to overnight depending on the strength of the gel. Whitening occurs in as little as 3 days.

An implant is one of the best ways to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Implants are permanent, fixed replacements which utilize the body’s own jaw bone for support. Implants, unlike a fixed bridge, are not connected to the adjacent teeth, and may be a better solution than porcelain bridges in that we can often times be more conservative and avoid involving the healthy adjacent teeth in the restoration. Implants have the appearance and structural integrity of natural teeth.

Porcelain bridges

A bridge is a permanently-fixed replacement for a missing tooth. Bridges are anchored by porcelain crowns on the adjacent teeth. This non-removable restoration looks, feels, and functions like natural teeth.

Porcelain Crowns

When breakdown of a tooth is more severe, we can create a crown, which works like a protective cover, to reinforce and strengthen the tooth. Made of porcelain/ceramic or porcelain-covered gold, this natural looking crown is permanently cemented to the tooth to restore form and function.

Tooth Colored Fillings

In this procedure a tooth-colored filling material is sculpted and bonded to the teeth. More than a cosmetic enhancement, these restorations actually strengthen teeth.

Advantages of tooth-colored fillings include the ability to:

  • Replace old, worn silver fillings
  • Repair decayed or broken down teeth
  • Close minor gaps between teeth
  • Minimize the appearance of crooked teeth
  • Create a more natural and attractive smile

Veneers are extremely aesthetic, ultra-thin, porcelain laminates that are custom made to adhere to the front of your teeth. They are long-term and very resistant to future staining or chipping, and are designed to look natural and fit your individual facial profile. Even tetracycline-stained teeth can be restored to a natural, beautiful smile.

Advantages of veneers include the ability to:

  • Whiten/conceal stained or discolored teeth
  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Correct a crooked smile without braces
  • Repair chips, wear and imperfections
  • Create a more attractive and youthful-looking smile
  • Obtain a more desirable shape

General Dentistry

Your oral health is our top priority at Rendezvous Dental. We teach our patients that regular dental visits, along with good hygiene and preventive care, contribute to your overall oral health substantially. Our professional dental cleanings help to remove tartar and plaque buildup, while our fluoride treatments help to protect teeth between visits. Each patient leaves our office armed with the knowledge and instruction to care for their teeth daily in an effort to make extra trips to the dentist office nonexistent.

Our office provides basic services in root canal therapy. Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by deep decay, trauma, cracks or infection. In order to save the tooth, the pulp (living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.

Having a root canal done on a tooth is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would die and have to be removed. Many patients believe that removing a tooth that has problems is the solution, but what is not realized is that extracting (pulling) a tooth will ultimately be more costly and cause significant problems for adjacent teeth.

Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although on occasion, a tooth will have to be retreated due to new infections.

With careful attention to your comfort, your teeth will be professionally cleaned by one of our skilled hygienists, and given a comprehensive exam and oral cancer screening by one of our doctors. State-of-the-art digital x-rays may be taken when necessary for diagnostic purposes.

Occlusion & Jaw

As part of our comprehensive care, our office will evaluate your occlusion (or bite) for abnormalities. Often, defective bites can lead to symptoms including headaches, clenching, grinding, jaw-joint pain, and fatigue. (This is referred to as TMD- Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction). We have the ability to eliminate or reduce these symptoms through specific therapies which can be as simple as a slight adjustment to your bite, fabrication of a “night guard”, or even using orthodontic therapy.

Oral Surgery

We provide basic services in tooth removal. A tooth may be removed for many reasons. It may be too badly damaged to be saved; it could be causing crowding, or preventing normal tooth development. Wisdom teeth are often removed because there is no room left in the back of the mouth by the time they come in.

Periodontal Disease & Therapy

If you have been told you have periodontal (gum) disease, you’re not alone. An projected 80 percent of American adults currently have some form of the disease. Periodontal disease is bacterial and/or genetic inflammation that results in major damage to the soft tissue and bone that support the teeth. Gum disease is a threat to your oral and overall health, and in more severe cases teeth may be lost. Rendezvous Dental is committed to the highest form of care to combat gum disease.

How Do You Treat Periodontal Disease?

Periodontal disease should be treated on an individualized basis, considering each person’s specific risk factors, including current health status, medications, lifestyle, and past medical history. Periodontal disease, being bacterial, is best treated with thorough plaque control and professional removal of these harmful microorganisms. At times an antibacterial product may be necessary to fight more severe cases. We will regularly examine your gums during your routine checkups in order to detect periodontal disease as soon as possible. Dr. Crane or Dr. Sackett may recommend x-rays to identify any problems that may exist so they are able to develop the best treatment plan to adapt to your exact needs.

These new handpieces decrease the amount of time you spend in the chair, increase the precision of our preparations and tremendously minimize the dreaded sound of a dental drill.

Intra-Oral Camera

Your hygienist or doctor may use the intra-oral camera to show you pictures of what your teeth look like. This assists in showing problem areas such as decay, broken teeth, or cracks. Please feel free to ask any dental professional at our office to show you areas in your mouth you may have a hard time seeing. This is a great instrument that technology has provided us to assist with your treatment.

Laser Services

Using lasers in dentistry is a more precise way to treat and manage various gum problems. Our laser can be utilized to re-contour excess gum tissue, treat stubborn cold sores, and help decrease bacteria within periodontal pockets. They are a fabulous tool to help change a gummy smile to show more tooth, and can even alter muscle attachment for children who are tongue tied to eliminate speech impediments. All this is done with no pain and very little down time.
